Piptune
Piptune is a dice-based roguelite developed as my Master’s thesis project at LUCA School of Arts C-mine. Inspired by the traditional Flemish café dice game pitjesbak, the game combines chance, strategy, and turn-based combat in a shady underground bar setting.
Players roll, reroll, select, and upgrade dice to create powerful scoring combinations. Through systems such as dice banking, combo upgrades, shop choices, economy, and a rule-changing jukebox, random rolls can be transformed into meaningful strategic decisions.
The project explores how players can stay motivated in a chance-driven game when they are given enough control to influence, understand, and respond to randomness.

Players can upgrade hand combos, customize individual dice faces, and unlock new jukebox songs in the shop.
